Join the Sugar Pine team for an unforgettable summer. Work side-by-side with 60 college age individuals and 20 full-time staff as a member of Sugar Pine's dynamic summer ministry team.

We are looking for team members who love God, and who are willing to work hard in service to others. Working at Sugar Pine is not just a summer job - it is a summer ministry!

Our staff needs to be in good health and prepared for a physically, and emotionally challenging summer.

At Sugar Pine, we have certain standards and expectations for our team. Above all else, we desire to glorify God in everything we do.

We anticipate all our staff will adhere to the highest moral and ethical standards.

We expect the staff to be examples by their modest, neat appearance and to conduct themselves in a Christ-like manner at all times.

Applicant Requirements

A strong Christian leader who lives by the Word of God and shows by example that Jesus Christ is Lord of his/her life.

A servant's heart reflected in an attitude of willingness and cooperation.

A contagious love for Jesus as Savior and Lord.

A fun loving personality that will be a team player working toward the goal of making Christ a reality in people's lives.

At least 18 years of age and a high school senior. Exceptions may be made for younger persons with proven maturity.

Summer Dates

The summer camping season kicks off with a staff training, planning, and orientation week which begins on Sunday, June 6. Our summer season concludes on Saturday August 21 with opportunities for extended ministry into mid-September. Vacation times must be requested as part of an applicant's hiring process. Please remember that priority will be given to those who can stay for the entire ministry season.

Hiring Process

We hope to have all staff positions filled by May 1. We will continue to accept applications until all positions are filled.

Early applicants with completed files ( application & two references ) returned to Sugar Pine will receive priority consideration .

Applicants who can stay the full summer season will be given priority consideration.

An in-person interview or phone interview will be conducted with potential summer staff members after which notification of hire will be given by phone.

A Conduct Covenant and contract will be sent upon the decision to hire and the decision to accept.

All potential 2010 summer staff must complete the application process. This applies to former Summer Staffers as well.

Salary

The starting salary is $731.02 per month including room and board with a 48 hour-a-week work schedule for all non- program/Guest Relations positions.

Program/Guest Relations positions work as many hours as it takes to complete their ministry assignments.

Returning summer staff, and positions requiring additional skill, responsibility, or leadership will be compensated accordingly.

Bonuses

There are two bonuses available to all applicants. An Early Signing Bonus of $50.00 will be given to any applicant who returns his/her completed application and reference forms to the camp by March 15, is hired and serves the complete summer season.

A Recruiter Bonus of $25 per person will be given to any Summer Staff that recruits another person who is accepted and serves out the complete summer season. All bonuses will be paid at the end of summer.
